The GST Appellate Tribunal has directed a Pune-based Subway franchisee to deposit ₹5.45 lakh, plus 18% interest, into Consumer Welfare Funds for not passing on GST rate cut benefits. The Tribunal upheld DGAP’s findings that base prices were increased to offset the tax reduction, nullifying the intended benefit to consumers.
