Al Ain flower fest blooms with new attractions
AL AIN: Al Ain City Municipality is dazzling visitors to Al Ain Flower Festival with the diverse and varied experiences included in the festival, which this year are geared towards families.Some of these experiences are being organised for the first time in the Arab Tourism Capital for 2026, reflecting Al Ain’s ambition and ability to offer high-quality events with a global presence. The festival grounds feature an 8-metre-long spiral tower and an interactive rose tunnel.The festival, which is organised by the municipality in Al Sarooj Park area and continues until Feb.13 and coincides this year with the Year of the Family, is witnessing a wide public turnout since the first day, said Khalifa Saeed Al Saadi, Head of Communications Department at Al Ain City Municipality.Many diverse activities are being offered during the festival, some of which are oriented to families in general and others to children in particular, he added.The 8-metre high spiral tower in the middle of the festival square gives visitors a wonderful opportunity to view the entire festival from all angles, he said, noting that it is provided with a smooth staircase that winds around the shape of the tower safely and comfortably, especially for children and the elderly.To reflect the history and culture of Al Ain, the tower is designed in the shape of the historic Al Jahili Fort and is decorated with green plants and flowers so that the visitor can enjoy breathtaking and relaxing views during the ascent of the tower, he said.The summit of the tower features a circular plaza that enables visitors to view the entire festival grounds and enjoy seeing the shapes designed with roses, colour gradients and huge sculptures that spread throughout the festival site, he added.Another experience is the rose tunnel, which is covered inside and outside with plants and flowers, he said, adding that it was designed to allow visitors to pass through it in an atmosphere mixed with the beauty of the scenery and the fragrant scent of roses, giving visitors the opportunity to take interactive photos.As part of the activities oriented to children, the festival features educational and entertaining workshops, cartoon character shows and other interactive activities, he said.The festival also includes a range of entertainment programmes, theatrical and artistic performances and roaming shows throughout the site that are suitable for all segments of society, he added.
