While agriculture will remain critical as a provider of raw materials for value-added industries, future growth is expected to come largely from services, manufacturing and urban development, particularly with the rise of Amaravati as a capital city and economic hub. The shift, he says, will help reduce economic risk, strengthen resilience against climate and global shocks, and place Andhra Pradesh on a sustainable high-growth path for the next two decades.
