Making unauthorised modifications to a vehicle’s engine or chassis can result in a Dh1,000 fine, 12 traffic points, and vehicle impoundment of up to 30 days.Under Law No. 5 of 2020, vehicles impounded for illegal modifications can only be released after paying a Dh10,000 fee.
