Dubai's Discovery Gardens residents cautioned against renting illegal parking spots

Parking memberships at Discovery Gardens are available only through the Parkonic app. For your protection, please avoid purchasing parking from social media pages or individuals. Do not send payments outside the Parkonic app. Always use official Parkonic channels.”The warning comes after several posts on the Discovery Gardens community pages on social media that inform residents about available private parking spaces. One outdoor parking space is available for rent. For Discovery Gardens residents only. Monthly rental. Please DM me if interested.”Another resident wrote: “I have a parking space in DG. I live on Street 9, but I don’t have a car. If someone is interested, they can inbox me. I haven’t put any price. Whoever gives the best offer can have it.”Parkonic said parking permits are given only to registered residential units, not to individual drivers. This means third-party arrangements are not valid under the approved rules.Over the phone, a Parkonic representative did not say whether action would be taken against unauthorised parking arrangements but reiterated that only permits issued through the Parkonic app are valid. He also said every registration is monitored and attempts to register twice with different mobile numbers or names can be detected.
