Paid parking announced in Abu Dhabi's Musaffah area from January 12

Residents and visitors in Abu Dhabi's Musaffah area will soon pay for public parking as authorities roll out a new paid parking system.

According to Q Mobility, phase one of the paid parking system in Musaffah will be activated from January 12 to ease congestion and improve traffic flow in one of the emirate’s busiest industrial zones.

Paid parking will be introduced in sectors M1, M2, M3, M4 and M24, covering 4,680 parking spaces, including designated bays for People of Determination. The standard parking fee is Dh2 per hour. Payment can be made through digital channels such as the Darb and Tamm applications, SMS, and on-site payment machines, providing a flexible and seamless user experience.

The system is part of an integrated plan to improve public parking management, enhance the road user experience, and support commercial activity by making access to industrial and commercial facilities easier for visitors and employees.

Why is parking now paid in Musaffah?

Musaffah is one of the emirate's major industrial and commercial zones, with high traffic density driven by diverse economic activities and the daily flow of employees and visitors. As demand for public parking increases, challenges have emerged, including difficulty finding available spaces and random parking, which affects traffic flow and mobility efficiency in the area.

The activation of the paid parking system in Musaffah aims to address these challenges by regulating parking use and improving vehicle flow, thereby facilitating access to facilities and enhancing road safety. This initiative also supports economic activity and contributes to a more organised and efficient working environment.

Paid parking in Al Shahamah

In November 2025, paid parking system was activated in Abu Dhabi's Al Shahamah area. The paid parking system covering 3,704 spaces has been introduced in both New and Old Al Shahamah in Abu Dhabi, with fees set at Dh2 per hour and payment available via the Darb and Tamm apps.

The step, which is under the supervision of the Integrated Transport Centre of the emirate's Department of Municipalities and Transport, aims to increase the efficiency of parking space usage.

Parking in Mohamed Bin Zayed City

Parking regulations (which generally include paid parking management) began in commercial areas of Mohamed Bin Zayed City in mid-December 2025, under a Q Mobility initiative to better organise vehicle movement.

Earlier in July 2025, new paid parking areas were launched in key locations, including Eastern Mangroves, Dolphin Park, and sectors along Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street and Al Qurm Plaza, as part of Q Mobility’s efforts to expand the city’s regulated parking network.
