Magnitude 6.7 earthquake strikes near Baculin, Philippines, USGS says
An earthquake measuring 6.7 magnitude struck 68 km (42.25 miles) east of Baculin, Philippines on Wednesday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The quake hit at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), according to the USGS. The Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) had said that they expect aftershocks and damage from the quake.
As of 11.25am local time, the region experienced at least 6 aftershocks, decreasing in intensity from magnitude 3.9 to 2.1, according to PHIVOLCS.
No tsunami alert has been issued yet, according to the USGS.
