Saudi Central Bank releases official holiday schedule from 2026 to 2029

Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) has released the schedule of official holidays across financial institutions for the next four years — 2026 to 2029. The schedule includes holidays for Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and Saudi National Day.

This will enable businesses, investors and residents to plan their financial transactions in advance. They have also included an advisory for banks and money exchange centres during Hajj season.

Saudi National Day is on September 23, and the Founding Day is on February 22 every year. If the National Day or Founding Day falls on a Friday then the holiday will be on a Thursday, and if they fall on a Saturday then the holiday will be on a Sunday, SAMA said on their official website.

They have also listed instructions for working hours during the official holidays.

• Working hours of banks dealing with clients during the Holy month of Ramadan shall be from 10am to 4pm.

• Working hours of banks’ remittance centers and payment service providers during the Holy month of Ramadan shall be 6 working hours (flexible hours), starting from 9:30am to 5:30pm.

• Banks’ branches, money exchange centers, payment service providers, and the seasonal branches, which receive pilgrims by air and sea, and holy sites in Makkah and Madinah, and border crossings must remain open continuously during Hajj season, in addition to Fridays and Saturdays to serve all pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors.

• Banks, money exchange centers, and payment service providers must open several branches, in addition to a number of branches, in populated residential areas, as well as in other locations where necessary, and at airports and different border crossings during specified periods of the holidays. The names and working hours of these branches must be announced to the public through appropriate means.​
