Sharjah extends parking service hours without raising subscription fees

The Sharjah City Municipality has begun implementing revised operating hours for paid public parking services across Sharjah City, Kalba, Khor Fakkan, and Al Dhaid, effective from Friday, as part of an initiative to unify parking fee collection times across the emirate.Under the new system, all public parking spaces subject to fees will now operate until 12:00 midnight. The change also applies to parking spaces marked with yellow signs, which will now follow the same operating schedule as those marked with blue signs, remaining chargeable until midnight.The municipality clarified that parking will continue to be free on Fridays and official public holidays, in accordance with existing regulations.Sharjah Municipality also confirmed that the extension of paid parking hours will not lead to any increase in seasonal subscription fees. Existing subscription charges will remain unchanged, while subscribers will benefit from two additional hours of parking coverage each day. Previously, seasonal permits covered a 14-hour paid parking period, but with the revised schedule, they will now provide coverage for 16 hours daily, offering greater value and convenience for motorists.The municipality said the move is designed to standardise paid parking operations across the emirate, enhance the efficiency of parking management, and provide a more consistent service for residents and visitors.
