Storm Leonardo is another wake-up call, showing that climate change has become increasingly harsh and dangerous (“Spain, Portugal face fresh storms, torrential rain,” Feb.8, Gulf Today website).According to the news Spain and Portugal endured fresh storms and torrential rain that claimed another life on Saturday, just days after the deadly flooding and major damage caused by Storm Leonardo.News of powerful storms, torrential rain, forest fires, and heatwaves has sadly become a new normal, claiming countless precious lives across the world.There is no doubt that humanity is facing enormous challenges, but in my view, the greatest threat to our planet is the disastrous impact of climate change. It is no longer a distant problem but a present reality affecting every region and community.
