World leaders express solidarity with UAE

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan received phone calls on Saturday from leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, UK, Germany, Greece and Pakistan to discuss the recent military escalation in the region and its impact on regional and international security.The leaders - Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, Jordan’s King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudan — strongly condemned the Iranian attacks on UAE territory and other Arab countries, describing them as violations of sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter, and highlighting the threat they pose to regional stability. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed thanked each leader for their countries’ supportive stance towards the UAE.All leaders emphasised the urgent need for immediate de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation and preserve security and stability in the region.Sheikh Mohamed also received a phone call from Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, during which they discussed the military escalation in the region and its serious implications for regional security and stability.During the call, the Saudi Crown Prince expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation of the attacks and affirmed its full solidarity with the UAE, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s readiness to provide all possible support in response to any measures taken by the UAE.Sheikh Mohamed expressed his appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its firm stance, fraternal solidarity and support for the UAE. During the call, Al Sisi expressed Egypt’s condemnation and strong denunciation of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the territory of the UAE and a number of Arab countries.During the call, the German Chancellor reaffirmed Germany’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks on UAE territory and expressed his country’s solidarity with the UAE in confronting these acts, which constitute a violation of its sovereignty and of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.During the call, Sheikh Mohamed and Starmer stressed the need to halt the escalation in order to prevent any widening of the conflict and to preserve regional security and stability.Taking to X, PM Shahbaz said he had conveyed Pakistan’s “strong condemnation of the dangerous regional escalation following the Israeli attack on Iran and the regrettable strikes against the UAE and other Gulf countries.”He also expressed his “deep sorrow over the tragic loss of a Pakistani national in Abu Dhabi” and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the UAE.Shahbaz assured the UAE leadership of Pakistan’s solidarity and support in the current crisis and said that Pakistan would always stand with its Emirati brothers and sisters, consistent with the close fraternal bonds between both countries, that had withstood the test of timesLater during the day, the Arab League States strongly condemned the Iranian aggression and attacks against the UAE, and other Arab countries, considering that the missile attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of states that advocate peace, have worked toward achieving stability, and did not participate in the war.
