Photos: Sheikh Mohammed tours Gulfood 2026 as global food exhibition opens in Dubai
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai visited the Gulfood food and beverage exhibition on Monday (January 26), as the global sourcing event returned to Dubai for its 2026 edition.In a post shared on social media, Sheikh Mohammed said he visited Gulfood 2026 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City, noting that the venue had undergone Dh10 billion worth of expansions to enable it to host large-scale international events.For the first time this year, part of the food and beverage sourcing event will take place at Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) at Expo City, while the other portion will unfold at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).Stay up to date with the latest news. With participation from 195 countries and 8,500 companies showcasing more than 1.5 million products, he said the event ranks among the largest of its kind globally."The UAE plays a vital role in the region and the world in supporting food trade and enhancing supply chains .. Free shuttle buses will run between both locations, and a transportation hub will have taxis. Will there be parking at Gulfood 2026 venues?At DWTC, there will be five paid multi-level car parks for those preferring to travel by car. Some of these parking structures are charging Dh100 for the first hour and Dh50 for every remaining hour. There will be limited streetside parking also available on either side of the Sheikh Zayed Road and Mustaqbal Street. As the centre is in a designated events area, the rate will be Dh25 per hour.At DEC, there will be free parking for visitors.
