UAE: 17-year-old student dies of cardiac arrest in Sharjah
A teenager died in Sharjah on Wednesday after suffering a cardiac arrest just two weeks after her birthday. The seventeen-year-old was rushed to a hospital close to her house in Sharjah’s Maysaloon area, however, she could not be saved.According to Manaf, a social worker and managing committee member of the Indian Association, she was active and healthy the day before the incident and had spent time playing with her family before returning home around 2am.She slept late that night and woke up around noon the next day. She went to the bathroom to freshen up but did not come out for a long time. “When her mother called out and received no response, the family broke open the bathroom door and found her lying unconscious on the floor,” said Manaf.Stay up to date with the latest news. She was declared dead at around 3.13pm on Thursday,” added ManafAccording to the death notification seen by Khaleej Times, the girl suffered from cardiac and respiratory arrest. Salam Pappinassery, CEO of Yab Legal Service, told Khaleej Times that his company was coordinating the paperwork needed to repatriate the girl's body to India.No prior issuesManaf added that the student had shown no prior health issues and was absolutely fine before the incident. “The medical report cited cardiac arrest as the cause of death. As she is a minor, legal procedures are currently underway, and the body remains at the hospital,” he said.A student at Sharjah Indian School, the Indian expat was studying in the 11th standard. Hailing from the southern Indian state of Kerala, her family has been living in Sharjah for several years. In October, an 18-year-old boy died due to a cardiac arrest in Dubai. Vaishnav Krishnakumar, who was a university student, attended a Diwali celebration along with his friends where he spent almost 45 minutes dancing. He later moved away from the dance floor before collapsing. Although he was rushed to the hospital, nothing could be done to save him.
