UAE initiative offers job opportunities for new, retired professionals
The UAE’s private security sector is opening its doors to both new entrants and retired professionals, offering a range of training programmes and career opportunities. An initiative by the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) is providing the necessary courses to qualify individuals for work in security companies, as well as refresher courses for retirees looking to transition into a new field.The programme is designed to align with the government’s vision of developing various sectors, including private security. “We provide the necessary courses that qualify new entrants to engage in the field of work in security companies,” a SIRA official stated on the direct line programme of Dubai Radio.The initiative also extends to retirees, particularly those with a military background, to help them adapt to a different work system. SIRA is actively supporting this initiative by organising open-door days, inviting security companies and sectors with security departments to meet with qualified candidates. For retirees, there are leadership and supervisory roles available, depending on their experience and qualifications. “The professions that are available include leadership and supervisory professions, so it is determined which path he will follow and which courses he needs to take,” the official added.The programme is open to all nationalities, with a special focus on Emiratisation.
